Augustus Gelatery Opens at Royal Children’s Hospital & Supports the Good Friday Appeal

We’re incredibly proud to share some news that’s very close to our hearts, Augustus Gelatery has officially opened a new store (Augustus Gelatery Parkville) located in the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Being part of such an inspiring and compassionate community means everything to our team. The Royal Children’s Hospital does extraordinary work every single day, providing world-class care to children and vital support to families. To be able to contribute even a small moment of joy through our gelato in such a special place is something we truly cherish.
Opening a gelateria inside the Royal Children’s Hospital came with its own unique set of challenges, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Working above the radiology department meant strict limits on vibrations, noise levels, and even smells, with construction only permitted during specific hours on select nights. Every specification was held to a higher standard, and rightly so. But for us, being part of such a meaningful community made every extra hurdle worth it. We were determined to make it work, and we did.
To celebrate our first week, we gave away 200 free scoops daily to hospital staff and customers. A small way of saying thank you to the community that welcomed us in.

Supporting the Good Friday Appeal 2026
With our new home at the hospital, supporting the Good Friday Appeal feels more meaningful than ever. This iconic Australian fundraiser plays a crucial role in helping the Royal Children’s Hospital continue its life-changing work.
This year, the Augustus Gelatery team is proud to be actively involved:
- Participating in Run for the Kids, showing our support in a hands-on way
- Donating directly to the Good Friday Appeal.
Every donation big or small, helps fund essential equipment, research, and patient care that makes a real difference in the lives of children and their families.
Join Our Community in Making a Difference
We believe in the power of community, and we’re honoured to stand alongside ours in supporting such an important cause. Whether it’s dropping a coin into a donation box, cheering on participants in Run for the Kids, or simply spreading the word, every action counts.
Together, we can help support the Royal Children’s Hospital and continue bringing smiles, both through the care they provide and the small joys we’re lucky enough to add.
